…or does adult society have a nasty habit of forgetting how life was when it was in its youth?
Just saw a poll on Breaking News.ie.
A study has revealed that homophobic bullying is widespread among teenagers. Have you experienced this?
Show me a teenager or young adult who hasn’t and I’ll show you an emphatic liar.

A quote not from last year, or last week, but by Socrates. Thousands of years ago. Maybe we’d do well to remember that society isn’t fucked, it’s just repetitive.

That is a great quote.
It is a very true thing to say. As I have gotten older I have disliked youth music more and more. Saying stuff like High School Musical is not a patch on Nirvana. But maybe I just don’t get it.

Echo previous commenter – excellent quote. It makes absolute sense of course – for his time. It’s not so much that society is repetitive, it’s just constantly changing. Social norms and values are always in flux.
Every older generation tends to look disapprovingly on the younger one and say “we were never like that.” They will always find fault – and that’s just in our nature. We’re hard wired to compare and contrast and draw conclusions.
