  1. Did I read that Ireland is the only country IN THE WORLD to higher the VAT rate in a effort to weather the recession? What the fuck are our government doing to us?

  2. Pretty much Darren – as I wrote in another post, last year the Germans raised VAT and this weeek with the onset of consumer spending slowing down, they’re cutting it again.

    You have to wonder what the hell they’re thinking. McCreevy would never have done it anyway, that’s for sure.
